I used to be able to buy powdered laundry detergent in a cardboard box at my supermarket. Then they stopped carrying it, offering only liquid detergent in plastic bottles. I asked the clerk why. She "explained" that the plastic bottles are recyclable so its "better" for the environment.

It's hard to believe how stupid & gullible they think we are, to pay more money for less detergent/mostly water (which our machines will add anyway), "recyclable" plastic (made from oil, unlike renewable, recyclable cardboard), more expensive per load to transport.

So I just buy my detergent at a different store.

It is totally insane. How can anyone with brain believe that he is saving the environment by driving around in a car that needs to be charged every few hours?
