Trump’s idiotic sanction threat.

As usual, Trump engaged in bombastic buffoonery fluffiness with scant regard for truth or veracity.

He is a showman who is always playing to the gallery!

His handlers must have told him tales, such as how mighty America can crush every foe, real or imagined.

A country with thirty-six trillion dollars in debt still claims to be the wealthiest nation.

A country that has financialized its economy and offshored its industry capacity so that it can hardly produce anything still boasts of being the world's greatest industrial powerhouse.

It is these types of delirium delusions that must have informed Trump’s threat to sanction Russia to hell.

Trump is Mr. America—all-powerful. His culture dictates that he must speak from a position of power.

It would hardly occur to these cultural Philistines that cultured people do not talk to anyone with disrespect. A truly powerful person does not need to exhibit power. Power manifests itself, and it is acknowledged without a need for exertion or proclamation.

It's little wonder that Putin and his people laughed at Trump's latest tantrums.

They must have wondered how Americans could have elected someone so dumb that he didn't know that the US trade with Russia (about $500 million) is so paltry that it would have no impact on Russia’s balance sheet.

More worrisome is that Trump appears to be ignorant of the fact that these were goods the US needed, like platinum, nitro fertilizers, and radioactive materials for power plants.

Sanctioning or tariffing them would only hurt the US, where citizens would either pay the tariffs or be plunged into darkness.

Did Einstein not describe insanity as doing the same thing over and over and expecting difference is the definition of insanity?

After seeing the Russians brush off about 20,000 sanctions and grow their economy into the world's fourth-largest, is it not the time for the West to change course?
