My reply to Richard Branson
My Mission: Stultitia Delenda Est - Stupidity Must be Destroyed!
A reply to Richard Branson, who posted how outraged he is by Russia’s attack on Ukraine.
Like most Westerners, Branson believes that the rest of us are sub-zoological species with no capacity for sentient thoughts. Hence, he began his narratives midstream.
There was no mention of an ongoing kinetic war that the Russians considered existential. We have to discount the fact that the Ukrainians are also bravely dishing out the best they have. Of course, the man had never heard that the Ukrainians sent hundreds of drones to mar what the Russians considered their holiest celebration on May 9. Branson also conveniently forgot that the Russians alleged that their president’s helicopter was targeted by Ukrainian drones while on a recent visit to the Kursk region.
He also asked us to forget that US Secretary of State Rubio recently admitted that the war is the West’s proxy against Russia (https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/rubio-calls-war-in-ukraine-a-proxy-war-between-us-and-russia-that-needs-to-end/ar-AA1AmT82.) How the West persuaded Ukrainians to forget that geography is the mother of history is beyond me. Let’s not discuss how criminally insane people must be to start a war with the country with the world’s largest nuclear arsenal.
But, as every sentient being today acknowledges, it has gone tragically awry for Ukraine.
As usual, Westerners would like us to suspend all our faculties and believe their lies that they are motivated only by the purest of altruistic ideals.
So, we have Richard Branson shedding crocodile tears for poor Ukrainians whom his government led to the sacrificial altar in a geopolitical game they were too ill-equipped to understand.
The question I asked the hypocrite was, if his concerns were for human lives, why did he fail to show the same outrage over the ongoing real-time genocide in Occupied Palestine?
Could we speculate that Mr. Branson’s lack of concern for Palestinians has to do with the color of their skin?
In a letter to the editor of Time magazine in the 1980s, I wrote that the world will know peace only when Westerners recognize that the same blood flows in every human body as they have in their own.
However difficult it might be for them, Westerners should develop the capacity to empathize with those of us who are of a different hue. More importantly, they should learn to manage their affairs in their countries and leave us alone.
As John Donne famously put it: Any man's death diminishes me because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bells tolls; it tolls for thee."
